Presentation

The purpose of this subject is to train students for the development of a managerial mentality familiar with innovation in the company as a key element of business competitiveness by fostering the spirit of being professionals with the ability to develop and identify new opportunities and respond rapidly to the changing needs of customers. In this way, we study how to encourage innovative environments within organizations, environments that push their members to risk innovating.

Innovation is closely related to the transformation of companies that is a global requirement in the current socio-economic environment. This transformation implies new business models, at the same time that it affects the redesign of processes, redefinition of functions and competencies, culture and organizational structure.
Therefore, this subject provides the student with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to face the decisions associated with the establishment of the innovation strategy of a company and the capacities to develop in an organization all the activities involved in the management of innovation. The most important contents of the subject are highlighted:

  • The transforming and generating value innovation.
  • Impact of innovation in the organization.
  • Execution of the innovation strategy to obtain better business results (maturity models, innovation roadmap, impact on the balance sheet, measurement of the value of innovation).
  • Innovation models: o Intrapreneurship.
  • Open innovation.
  • Innovation laboratories.
  • Innovation ecosystems.

  • CB6: Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and / or application of ideas, often in a research context.
  • CB7: That students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.
